Keeping in mind that on Planet Mom there never seems to be time for finishing our morning coffee while it's still hot, or eating a decent breakfast ourselves before rushing out the door, our MOPS meetings start off with a time of food and fellowship followed by a time of learning and sharing. Once a month we will enjoy a fun and easy craft or project.

This is the second year that Lake Norman Baptist Church has hosted a local MOPS group for area mothers.   We provide a welcoming environment for mothers to meet, connect with and encourage one another through this journey of motherhood through the preschool years.  Our mentor is on hand at most meetings to provide additional encouragement, advice and prayer for anyone who seeks the wisdom of someone who has already navigated through their journey as a MOP. 

Meetings take place at the church from 9:30 – 11:30am during the first and third Thursdays of the month starting September 3rd, 2009 continuing through May 20th, 2010. 

We are excited about the 2009-2010 MOPS International theme - "Together on Planet Mom".  God created us for relationship! It’s one of the defining parts of being human. However, when you become a mom, all your relationships change. It’s like you have landed on a different planet—Planet Mom—and the relationships on Planet Mom don’t look like the ones on your previous planet. Your relationship with yourself is different—you are a mom! Your relationship with your husband, girlfriends, extended family, community and God have all changed. Many of these changes are positive, some are not. Even positive change requires adjustments on your part. During the 2009-10 MOPS year, we will celebrate and explore the fun in being a mom, and enjoying the many blessings that can only be found Together on Planet Mom.  We have many exciting speakers, crafts, and activities planned for the 2009-2010 year, so check us out. While moms are enjoying a morning of rest and relaxation, children are being cared for in a loving environment called MOPPETS. They are divided into age-appropriate groups and are involved in planned activities such as games, stories, crafts, music, and physical play. All of our MOPPETS workers have been carefully screened by both LNBC MOPS members and LNBC staff.

In addition to our regular meetings, we also have fun outings and activities available such as:

• Date Night
• Christmas Cookie Exchange
• Summer Playgroup

Registration and Weekly Fees are combined to cover childcare, craft supplies, door prizes, game prizes, and fantastic speakers!!

• Registration Fee of $25 due at the time of registration.
• Meeting Fee of $5 per meeting. 
• Optional Full Payment of $40 for Fall semester (8 meetings) due in September.
• Optional Full Payment of $50 for Spring semester (10 meetings) due in January.
• Optional Get 3 meetings FREE! with Payment of $75 for Fall & Spring semester in September.
• Optional MOPS International membership $24**

* If these fees present a financial hardship, partial and full scholarships are available or we can set up a payment plan for you. It is our desire that every woman have the opportunity to be involved in MOPS.
