LNBC Students Support “Compassion International”

At the beginning of the 2006-07 church year (September, 2006), the students of LNBC made a sponsorship commitment to “Compassion International”, a Christian child advocacy ministry that releases children from spiritual, economic, social and physical poverty, and enables them to become responsible, fulfilled Christian adults.

The LNBC Student Ministry presently supports two children (one boy and one girl) from El Salvador, by making a financial contribution of $32 per child per month. In addition, the students write letters to the children and have committed to pray for the children on an ongoing basis.

Support for the “Compassion” ministry is presently the only fund-raising in which LNBC students participate.

To generate funds to support this ministry, the LNBC students will participate in 2-3 projects each year. As a primary fund-raising effort, the students will work in the concessions area during Upward Basketball games at LNBC on eight consecutive Saturdays in January and February. 100% of the profit from concession sales will go to support the “Compassion” ministry.

Though participation is not required, all LNBC students are encouraged to work at least one Saturday in January or February to assist in the Upward concessions area. Students are also encouraged to participate in other “Compassion” projects.

To help support our “Compassion” children, please sign up to participate in Upward concessions by contacting Tim Moody, High School Minister, at 704-237-9153 or tim@mail.lakenormanbaptist.com
