Dr. Bobby Blanton became the senior pastor of Lake Norman Baptist Church in 1997. Prior to coming to LNBC, Dr. Blanton served as pastor for three other churches located in NC and SC.
Dr. Blanton was raised in Woodruff, SC and graduated from Gardner Webb University. He received his Masters of Divinity from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary and his Doctor of Ministry Degree from Drew Theological School.
His first book, entitled The Trail of Transforming Faith, was released in August 2013.
Bobby and his wife, Debbie, have three grown children and three grandchildren.
Mark Zirkle has a B.S. and a Master’s in Business Administration from UNC- Charlotte. He is also finishing a Master of Arts in Christian Ministry in Discipleship and Church Ministry from Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary in December of 2016. Mark joined the staff in April of 2015.
Although raised in the United Methodist Church, Mark was saved at the age of 15 and baptized in the Baptist church at the age of 30. He worked in corporate HR for 20 years before surrendering to God’s call to full-time vocational ministry.
He and his wife, Shawn, have three sons (Luke, Ben and Adam). Mark enjoys spending time with each member of his family, doing whatever they enjoy doing!
Darryl King has two Bachelor of Arts degrees from Rice University and a Master of Arts in Christian Leadership at Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary. Darryl joined our staff in July of 2013.
Darryl was saved at the age of 33. Darryl’s life was changed when he joined a Sunday School class and Men’s Small Group that challenged his relationship with Jesus Christ. Those experiences convinced Darryl of the life changing impact of the gospel and he desires the same for others.
Darryl is married to his wonderful wife Shelia, and they have two adult daughters. Their oldest daughter is married and is the proud mom of Darryl and Shelia’s first grandson.
William received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Piedmont Bible College in Winston Salem, NC, majoring in Voice and Bible with a Minor in Piano. William has been actively involved in Baptist work on the State Convention and Association levels for North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, and Oklahoma, and has lived in each of these states as well.
William join the LNBC Staff in February 2012.
William and his wife, the former Leslie Van Allen of Charlotte, NC have 3 children: son Caleb and wife Lauren, daughter Katie and husband, Stephen, and youngest daughter, Kayce.
