A New Kind Of Bible Study Experience

What is The Voyage? To simply characterize it, the Voyage is a church-wide Bible study tool that attempts to remove as many hindrances as possible to people engaging in God’s Word. It is moving from encouraging people to do Bible study to motivating them to have a personal Experience with God by engaging Him through His Word. If God’s Word is living and active, reading the Bible should be an Experience and not just a study.
What The Voyage Does:

- Prepares participants for Sunday’s sermon

- Creates a unified teaching focus for the entire congregation
How The Voyage Works:
- Reading
- Writing
- Discussing

So how does it work? Every participant is given a journal in which to record his or her daily experiences with God through His Word. On Sunday, every participant comes to church to participate in a small group Bible study, which is led by a small group leader (teacher) who has a written lesson from which to lead the group time. The lesson is written on the passage that each person was reading during the week. Also on Sunday, the participant attends worship where the sermon is based on the same passage read during the week.
The Voyage’s goal is to extend the teaching ministry of the church into the homes as well as the church building. Every day, participants voyage together spiritually through a common connection to God’s Word.
